THE RENEWED MAXXI MUSEUM OF ROME PRESENTS MAXXI RE-EVOLUTION

MAXXI Re-Evolution, the prestigious National Museum of Arts of the XXI century, in Rome, designed by Zaha Hadid, transforms and strengthens its identity and its public mission. Starting from May 6, 2017 the Museum has been transformed into a more welcoming and accessible space. It is also possible to visit the ground floor for free. In addition, we can also find new spaces dedicated to permanent collections and to meetings, a new video gallery, a new setting up, a new restaurant and a new Café-bookshop with more services for the public. The project was strongly backed by the President Giovanna Melandri, by the artistic director Hou Hanru and by the directors of the MAXXI Art and MAXXI architecture, Margherita Guccione and Bartolomeo Pietromarchi, curators of The Place to Be.

“With this project we cut the finish line of a marathon that started years ago” says Giovanna Melandri – we want to constantly enrich the cultural offer of the Museum and we do it starting from the permanent collection, which represent the heart of the Museum and a heritage offered to the public for free from Tuesday to Friday. We have worked and will continue to do so to enrich it, to preserve it and make it more accessible. This is the “re-evolution” of a great cultural institution, laboratory of future and memory of contemporaneity”.
