The Scribit computer, conceived by Carlo Ratti, transforms the walls of offices, houses and galleries into digital screens that can be continuously updated

What would happen if we could transform the wall of our office (or house) into a ‘painting’ made of digital contents that could be updated in real time? Architect Carlo Ratti and his studio have invented Scribit, a small robot able to produce digital contents that can be immediately visualized on the wall. The customized effect in a meeting room or in the living room becomes amazing!

Scribit will be presented during the Salone del Mobile in Milan from 17 to 22 April, in the area in front of Palazzo Reale and, on 5 June 2018, a crowdfundingcampaign will start to support its launch.

The robot is easy to install, in less than five minutes: you just need two nails and a plug. Thanks to a special patented technology, Scribit can draw, erase and draw again new contents a limitless amount of times, making it possible to have a different image on the wall every day or even every few minutes. The device is always connected to the Internet, making it possible to upload or download files from the Internet.

Scribit will allow its users to access a wide range of digital contents via mini-apps. Thanks to this robot, in the global market, people, companies or institutions– from artists to museums, to media organizations – can develop and upload any kind of content. [Cristina Provenzano]
