ON SATURDAY, MAY 12th, IN THE GULF OF TRIESTE, MARGHERITA DE ECCHER WILL OPEN THE CELEBRATIONS OF THE THIRD EDITION OF PORTOPICCOLO DESIGN ZONE, THE EVENT WHERE THE SEA MEETS DESIGN
The next weekends, May 12 and 13, 19 and 20, will be animated by the events enriching Design, Taste, Art&Motion, Fashion, the four sections into which Portopiccolo Design Zone – which takes place in Portopiccolo, coastal town on the shores of the Gulf of Trieste, not far from the Castle of Miramare – is organized.
In the kitchen reproduced at the centre of the square, cooking demos will take place, and stories concerning food and design will be told.
Innovative art workshops and bookshelves in wood, metal, paperboard will offer works and books dedicated to design.
Three young architecture studios will realize an idea by Studio Super Luna with ‘La Stanza Sul Mare’ (‘the room on the sea’), a floating platform featuring drawings, projects, models helping understand the role of architecture.
The contemporary residences – some of which will open for this occasion – consist in apartments with sea views, furnished with the contribution of companies such as Edra, Cassina, Flou, Vitra, Carl Hansen, interior design by Trieste-based Zinelli & Perizzi. There are also collections by great architects such as Alessandro Mendini and Philippe Starck for Baleri.
The whole town will be furnished by famous brands: for example, Emu will decorate the area overlooking the sea, while, on an experimental stage, Smeg refrigerators and Bora cooktops will be displayed.
On the roads surrounding Portopiccolo, it will be possible to see the iconic Maserati cars presented by Gruppo Autostar.
On Saturday 12th the Bellavista Open Season Party will welcome the summer season and it will be followed, during both weekends, by cocktail parties, fashion shows with Portopiccolo Fashion Night, brunches for young architects organized by Modulnova, surrounded by Culti Milano’s fragrances and the artistic lighting provided by Serena Luxury Mosaic.
