From 11 to 15 June 2018, in Hong Kong, the KODW will be held: a week dedicated to innovative knowledge applied to design, focused on ‘Design for Liveability’
KODW 2018, involving more than 20 international experts, is organized by the Hong Kong Design Centre with Create Hong Kong as the major sponsor (the co-organizers are Hong Kong Design Institute and PolyU Design.
This year, the international ‘think tank’, which has been held since 2006, will include 3 forums with case studies, 8 workshops and a special workshop exclusively dedicated to CEOs. The themes of the forums will be ‘Urban Experience Reimagined’, ‘Public Sector Innovation’ and ‘Vision For Future Cities’.
Under the label of the global challenge posed by the theme ‘Design for Liveability’, multidisciplinary conferences and high level exchanges in a wide range of correlated fields will take place: from urban planning to healthcare, smart technology, sports, culture and sustainable development.
In short, KODW is an annual programme that gathers (from China, Asia and the World) the best experts and those who are interested in crosscutting innovation reached through design. The HKDC (Hong Kong Design Centre), which promotes it, was founded in 2001 as a strategic partner of HKSAR Government (the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region) with the public mission of establishing Hong Kong as a centre of design excellence in Asia, to drive business development and improve the wellbeing of society.
