I have an emotional approach, each of my projects is a container of meanings, or a quote to objects that have been part of our past. I try to design ‘quietly’ in a noisy world, I like give people something different than an object that fulfills its functions; it is not a matter of form, or mere proportions, I have a holistic vision of the product that unites all these concepts and returns them in a single image able to move memories, emotions, and educate to the aesthetic sense
These are the words used by Federica Biasi to describe her ‘creative philosophy’. Born in Milan in ’89, from 2011 to 2013 she worked in Milan and then moved to Amsterdam to draw inspiration from the Nordic design and the formal and aesthetic simplicity embodied by these furnishings, ceramic objects and textiles.
Among the latest works, which she is going to present at the Milan Furniture Fair 2018, ‘Om’, a carpet for CC-tapis, whose choice of natural colors and fringes interprets two of the contemporary trends of Italian and international design, while maintaining the North African identity of the carpet. Federica was inspired by a night spent in Merzouga, Morocco.
‘Marianne’ for the Mingardo brand, of which she is also art director, is a bookcase – in black painted iron, tempered glass shelves and natural brass details – elegant and slim, a modular system that is versatile and adapts to different environments, in both residential and commercial spaces.
The self-produced ‘Sophie’ armchair impresses thanks to its expressly feminine and at the same time imposing character reminiscent of a throne, with a metal structure and a soft covering that ensures great comfort.
