Sway is a cordless floor lamp that could be placed anywhere in a room without the need for power cords that were ‘trip hazards’
Its an international multidisciplinary design office located in Toorak, an inner suburb of Melbourne, focused on developing products which are precise, yet simple, and above all meant to be enjoyed. The studio aims to breathe new life in to the repetition of domesticity, and to do it in a way that engages the user and elicits an emotional reaction, which is the very essence of Nick Rennie’s philosophy.
Sway is a cordless floor lamp that could be placed anywhere in a room without the need for power cords that were ‘trip hazards’. The lamp’s crisp form and intelligent execution features a round silicone and LED head, a carbon rod separating the two distinct circular forms and a round weighted base that when pushed, elegantly sways the lamp back to ‘centre’.
The result is a minimalist, nomadic floor lamp that is playful and could not be ‘knocked over’. It has a chargeable 10-hour battery life. Manufacture by Made By Pen.
