In Vicenza on 21-22 June 2018, in Rome on 26 June 2018 at the Casa dell’Architettura and next autumn in Milan, the Dedalo Minosse Cinema Prize will take place. The title of this edition dedicated to Argentina is ‘Il cinema, l’architecte, los arquitectos‘. It is an initiative promoted by ALA Assoarchitetti with Ordine degli Architetti Pianificatori Paesaggisti e Conservatori della Provincia di Vicenza. DDN is media partner of the event.
In Vicenza, on 21 June, in the evening, Palazzo Chiericati will host the opening conference and the showing of the Argentinian film ‘La obra secreta‘, while ‘El hombre de al lado‘ will be shown on 22 June at Cinema Odeon (free entry). Both movies were filmed at Casa Curutchet, Le Corbusier’s iconic architecture in Latin America.
Casa ‘Curutchet’ in La Plata (Buenos Aires) is the only project by Le Corbusier in South America
Palazzo Chiericati, from 21 June to 1 July 2018, will also house the exhibition ‘Le Corbusier 130/70‘. The event will focus on the influence exerted by Le Corbusier on Argentinian architects with the only project he realized there. The opening conference will be held by architect Giorgio Scianca and Julio Santana, director of Casa Curutchet in La Plata; the numbers stay for the 130th anniversary of the birth of the Master of the Modern Movement and the 70th of Casa Curutchet, UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Dedalo Minosse Cinema was born as a spinoff of the Dedalo Minosse International Prize for commissioning a building that ALA has been organizing in Vicenza every two years for more than twenty years, promoting exhibitions, meetings and debates attracting important international architects and clients to prestigious buildings designed by Palladio such as Teatro Olimpico and Palazzo Valmarana Braga.
