Robert Stadler
Robert Stadler was born in 1966 in Vienna. He studied design at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan, then at ENSCI / Les Ateliers in Paris. In 1992 he cofounded the RADI DESIGNERS group and since 2000 he has been working solo. His work is present in several private and public collections such as Fondation Cartier, FRAC Nord-Pas de Calais and he works for clients such as Académie des César, Costes group, Dior, Orange and Ricard. Robert Stadler intervenes in very diverse fields, obliterating all hierarchies between free proposals, industrial and public commissions. He explores the exhibition space in order to scramble the usual categories of art and design. He questions the status of the object as work of art or product as well as the border between preciousness and lowliness, elegance and vulgarity, the serious and the absurd. Questioning the object's identity or even provoking their dissolution, are fields of interest crossing most of his projects.

Tephra Formations
Austrian designer Robert Stadler has designed a range of furniture based on volcanic explosions, entitled Tephra Formations; the series includes seating, an armchair, pouf and low table.
The idea of each sitting was inspired by 'soft and non-uniform’ shape of volcanic eruptions that emerge in a partially melted state: it represents a concept of mutation than dissolution.
Upholstered leather, lacquered steel container and lacquered top the series are accommodating and inviting.
