The Belgian event turns 50 and in the second half of October 2018 it will present top design brands, themed exhibitions and the beginning of the Interieur Festival

Save the date: from 18 to 22 October 2018, Kortrijk, Belgium, will host the Biennale Interieur in which the best design brands of the world will take part.

This year is particularly important since it marks the 50th anniversary of the Biennale. Among the most important exhibitors we can mention Flos, cc-tapis, Fritz Hansen and Hem, and prestigious designers such as Patricia Urquiola, Marcel Wanders and Barber & Osgerby. In total, over 200 brands will participate, with products ranging from the kitchen to the bathroom, from textiles to carpets, but also lighting design, furniture and technology.

The event will host also lectures and themed exhibitions such as

Scenography, designed by Studio Verter, is a central space that characterizes the overall layout of the event: a sort of ideal city where you can find the typical architectural elements of any city, such as a fountain, some statues and a kiosk.

The floor is yours, a space dedicated to emerging designers and firms such as Atelier Piraat, Bultin, Concealed Studio from Canada and Antikapratika from Germany.

Interieur Awards is another interesting platform that awards and presents new ideas by young designers to an audience of professionals that could be interested in them.

Spaces’ presents three young architecture firms that were given the opportunity to design the concept of a café, including the interior layout and the coordinated image related to the food & beverage offering.

The event will be accompanied by Interieur Festival, in the city until 4 November 2018, in an extraordinary location, i.e. the former AZ Groeninge Sint-Maarten hospital. [Valentina Dalla Costa]
