THE MATERA-BASED COMPANY HAS SET UP THE FIVE LOUNGES THAT HOSTS THE TENNIS EVENT AT THE FORO ITALICO OF ROME. ON THIS OCCASION IT DESIGNED A LIMITED EDITION POLI ARMCHAIR DEDICATED TO THE TENNIS WORLD

Calia Italia, the Matera-based oldest company as regards upholstered furniture, will be present in Rome from 10th to 21st May at the International BNL of Italy, the most important tennis competition in Italy.

The company’s sofas stand out in the five lounges: Privè, with its squared shapes; Duca, with its timeless elegance; Belle Epoque, characterized by the unmistakable “capitonnè” manufacturing; Modula, with its infinite combinations. The Presidential Hall includes the limited edition Poli armchair: a printed velvet that retraces the history of tennis and, in particular, the clothes used by sportsmen starting from 1800. In this way, Calia shows the evolution of style over time: from uniform with long skirts and pants to the practical look of our time. With this stylistic research, Calia Italia demonstrates how trends, fashion and culture influence the sport and its related environments.

The lounges will also host from 14th to 21st May, the fifth edition of the art and design exhibition “Le Joie di Vivre”, the main theme will be the “youth”, a quality that can be summed up in this famous French motto. The exhibition was organized by the Contemporary Art Gallery Ex-Elettrofonica in collaboration with the architect Daniele Dalla Porta, designer of Calia’s Modula, Privè and Duca sofas.

The visitor of the Tennis event will rediscover the sport through new eyes, in a place where comfort and relaxation have been combined with a unique and distinctive design.
