AthensWas Hotel, is a refined yet discrete hotel, a jewel of timeless beauty sited in the heart of the Greek capital city. The interiors, designed by the Greek practice Stage Design Office, are classic yet modern, enriched by refined cross references to the classic art. The flooring are made from Greek marble; details in nut wood were used everywhere, starting from the bright and minimalist lobby at the ground floor. The geometric flooring (the same of the lobby), acts as a background to the Luisa chairs by Franco Albini (by Cassina). On the tables are arranged small refined designer’s objects. As for instance the brightly colored table accessories designed by Ettore Sottsass Jr. for Alessi in the Eighties. The AthensWas has 21 rooms all equipped with private terrace, enriched by Mediterranean climbing plants, such as jasmine and wisteria. The rooms are furnished with pieces ranging from traditional to very contemporary style, evoking the atmosphere between the 1930 and the 1960, the one in which Athens has incredibly grown. Cassina, Flos, Knoll International, Classicon are some of the design brands that add class to these intimate spaces. On the walls are hanging photographs of the metops of Parthenon and other classic cross references. The facility’s  feather in the cap is the restaurant with the open terrace overlooking the acropolis.
