The celebrities of the world street-art for the first time on display in a metropolis of Southeast Asia

From January 13 to June 3, 2018, the ArtScience Museum in Singapore (in the Marina Bay Sands Pte Ltd complex) hosts a historical exhibition on street art: from the beginning, as an expression of counterculture, to our days, that is recognized as one of the more interesting forms of art. An exhibition that tells in an engaging way the street-art born in the streets of New York as an expression of anger, and that over time has become an authentic cultural movement that has transformed the cities of the world, filling them with color and new energy.

Curated by the art expert and scholar of new forms of expression Magda Danysz, Art from the Streets traces the evolution of the genre, investigating the different techniques over the decades, up to the recent possibilities offered by technology.

200 works on display – including large-scale works, installations, videos, prints, archival materials, drawings and sketches. Works by well-known street artists, including Banksy (and his Mouse and heart), Shepard Fairey-aka Obey (with Murals of the Middle East), Futura, Invader, JR (which here shows the famous The wrinkles of the city), Blek le Rat, Swoon and Vhils, Eko Nugroho, Tarek Benaoum, Stéphane Bisseuil, Blade, Crash, Speak Cryptic, D * face, Fab 5 Freddy, FAILE.
