Flou celebrates 40 years of the Nathalie bed, more hip and contemporary than ever, and continues its search for concreteness and simplicity, developing collections based on the recovery of traditional materials. The “Casa Flou” installation at the Salone del Mobile 2018 was characterized by the presence of both new and iconic pieces, to tell a story of style and uniqueness.

Nathalie bed by Flou turns 40.

Nathalie, “the perfect bow”

The bed Nathalie is 40 years old, but retains an enviable freshness. For the occasion, Flou has created a limited edition, “Nathalie 40th Limited Edititon”, produced in only 299 pieces, which faithfully reproduces the original of 1978, even in the textile coating, with the cushion covers coordinated with the duvet cover. The celebration of Nathalie also saw the making of a short film, directed by Andrea Cavallari and produced by Cristian Rabbiosi, which tells the story of a family, through a succession of bows, which in the end reveal themselves until the “perfect bow” of Nathalie.

The collections
Flou continues its search for beauty and uniqueness by focusing on materials rich in history, which combine simplicity and tradition, thanks to processes that enhance their intrinsic characteristics. Fossil wood makes it possible to obtain unique pieces with a recognizable style, and primitive wood, recovered from historical buildings, gives the furnishings the charm of time and craftsmanship. Burnished brass, which ages with time, expresses itself fully alongside arabesque marble, extracted from a small quarry in northern Italy, recently reopened. The marble of this quarry has a black color with veins from white to gray gold, which give elegance, and is authentically Made in Italy. Full grain leather in 19 colours and fabrics with rich patterns, decorations and colours complete the furnishing collections with products created by different designers.
