Boffi, De Padova and MA/U Studio, as a testimony of the perfect coexistence of design and style of the brands, showed in the same space at the Salone del Mobile 2018.

Kitchens and bathrooms by Boffi, and furnishings for the living area of De Padova, outline a new concept of furniture, inspired by simplicity and rigor, with essential shapes and materials and extremely accurate workmanship. The Milan design week also saw the completion of the Boffi showroom in via Solferino, which on the occasion of its twentieth birthday redesigned the space with a third entrance, displaying all the products of the group’s brands, at the Boffi spaces in via Solferino and the De Padova showroom in via Santa Cecilia.

Many new products were presented by the different brands, including three reissues of historical products for De Padova. The Silvia armchair, designed by Paolo Tilche in 1960, from the Archivio Storico Bonacina 1889, is still handcrafted in rush bark tied India reeds: a piece for lovers of vintage, who no longer have to compete for the few specimens left at auction sales.silvia-depadova.jpg

The armchair T.54, designed by F.lli Monti in 1954, also coming from the Historical Archive of Bonacina 1889, is a wicker armchair, with a metal structure and thermoplastic feet, which reveals a contemporary design combined with craftsmanship. The Rea chair, designed by Paolo Tilche in 1956, is a very simple chair formed by a metal structure with leather backrest and seat, a project that confirms its modernity despite being over 60 years old.

Another news comes from the cooperation with Salvatori, which sees Boffi use Salvatori’s stones exclusively for his bathroom and kitchen projects. The result of this meeting is a collection that combines craftsmanship and technology, natural stones – such as Crema d’Orcia or Pietra d’Avola – with artificial materials, for products where aesthetics and functionality are perfectly combined.
