At Casa Emergency, the worlds of design and humanitarian commitment will exchange views on life in war zones; a contest for the 25th anniversary of the association founded by Gino Strada will follow

On Saturday, May 26th, 2018, Casa Emergency (via Santa Croce 19, Milan) will host ‘Design contro la Guerra’: an afternoon dedicated to exchanging views between design experts and people involved in humanitarian actions on living conditions and possible interventions in war zones.

The event is promoted by Emergency with SOSdesign (info, a fundraising program also dedicated to gathering new ideas, started in 2001, at the beginning of the last War in Afghanistan.

‘Design contro la guerra’ is also the first necessary step to define the brief for the call for ideas for environments, products and services for people living in war zones, that will be launched in September 2018. The results will be showed to the general public in May 2019, for the 25th anniversary of the foundation of Emergency, by means of an exhibition of selected projects, an award ceremony, a meeting on developments and possible scenarios, and an exhibition of design objects that it will be possible to purchase to support the development of the winning prototypes.
