Secular olive trees, artificial intelligence and the power of the sea are the themes that have inspired the latest collections Natuzzi of upholstered furniture and furnishings for the living area – unexpected, almost surprising. Natuzzi introduced himself to the Salone del Mobile 2018 as a company that offers a complete range of furniture for living and sleeping areas, integrated with home automation for a more comfortable home.
The Torsion table, designed by Mario Bellini, expresses all the power of the wind that bends secular olive trees in Puglia, the land where Natuzzi originated – and that today is known and loved all over the world. The curved solid olive wood slabs of the base rotate, reminiscent of the trunk of an olive tree, creating a design of great strength, perfectly visible under the top in extra-clear transparent glass.
The Agronomist and Oceanographer collections are inspired by Apulian land and sea, by Marcel Wanders. Agronomist includes sofas and armchairs in extremely generous shapes and colours of the Mediterranean landscape, while Oceanographer is a very large collection, sofas, armchairs, chairs, tables, accessories, in shapes and colours that come directly from the sea.
The objects that connect and interact are now almost taken for granted, and Natuzzi has also developed a Smart Living program, presented at Salone del Mobile 2018. Made in partnership with LG Electronics, Natuzzi’s smart living program allows the Colosseo sofa by Mauro Lipparini, to become the fulcrum of an “intelligent” living room, with adjustable seat and back, connected to many other elements of the house, lights, TV, air purifier, etc. A virtual assistant, voice controlled, or an app for smartphones manage the functions, adjusting the environment and atmosphere depending on the activity undertaken.
