In the heart of the Dolomites, the Boutique Hotel Schgaguler has been renovated with 8 suites, a restaurant, swimming pools and an ice room

Il Boutique Hotel Schgaguler

Thanks to the large glass surfaces, the façade of the Boutique Hotel Schgaguler is elegant and transparent, open to the landscape; the pitched roof recalls the typical lines of local architecture. We are in Castelrotto, in the province of Bolzano, in the middle of the Seiser Alm (Italy). The hotel with restaurant, created in 1980 by Gottfried Schgaguler and his wife, has become an exciting Boutique Hotel thanks to the skilful renovation carried out by architect Peter Pichler.

Twenty years later, a large, innovative spa was added, followed shortly afterwards by the Rubin restaurant, with the collaboration of their children Sandra Schgaguler, a sommelier and a digital marketing expert, and Martin Schgaguler, a graduate from the Bocconi University in Milan holding a postgraduate degree from the Ecal design school in Lausanne. The lounge bar is completely surrounded by nature and offers breathtaking views of the Dolomites.

The renovation of the existing structure allowed to create a glazed floor hosting 8 new suites. Rooms are more spacious and are equipped with a freestanding bathtub in the middle.

The minimal and innovative aesthetic designed by Pichler makes rooms and communal spaces more precious, from the spa with large pools to the wooden sauna. The spa is provided with the ‘melmarium’ where the combined effect of mud, heat, infrared rays and steam allow for a perfect absorption of active substances.
