Ambiente is the world’s leading fair for the Dining, Living and Giving sectors: business and trends will be in Frankfurt from 8 to 12 February

At Ambiente, in Frankfurt am Main from 8 to 12 February 2019, the world’s consumer goods industry will show the future of housewares, tableware, kitchen, furnishings, interior design, gift items, jewelry and fashion accessories.

The exhibitors, coming from about 90 countries, will find a new layout thanks to the inauguration of a new Hall 12, effective signage and easy connections among the three macro sections: Dining (kitchen, table and housewares), Living (design furnishings), Giving (gift items).

The partner country, the Republic of India, will enhance Galleria 1 with an exhibition dedicated to its rich artisanal tradition. The exhibition will be curated by Indian designer Ayush Kasliwal, who believes that “objects are messages in physical form.”

Future = digital era: the fair will offer a trading platform for the HoReCa and Contract Business sector, where producers, designers, investors and consultants from all over the world will be able to exchange ideas and proposals during ‘Get-Together’, the third edition of the exclusive evening event dedicated to this segment.

Moreover, design studio Gruschwitz GmbH will emphasize the interplay between online and offline with ‘Point of Experience’, full-scale shop design of the future created to encourage consumers to keep shopping at brick-and-mortar stores.

Global Sourcing: the new feature of the 2019 edition will be represented by the ‘Premium’ area (Hall 10.2) where selected companies of the Global Sourcing-Dining sector will exhibit their products. For the future editions Global Sourcing will be extended to all sections of Ambiente.

THREE TRENDS FOR 2019 AND BEYOND

Ambiente, the yardstick of consumer goods trends, highlights the trend of ‘sustainable’ categories, which can be easily identified thanks to the Ethical Style Guide. Of course, there will be the trends for the next season in design, architecture, fashion, lifestyle. Guided tours by experts and digital brochure for retailers and producers will offer an overview.

The trends spotted by design studio Stilbüro bora.herke.palmisano that will last beyond 2019, as Nicolette Naumann, Vice President of Ambiente, said, are the following.

Tasteful Residence – timeless elegance: perfect craftsmanship and unique pieces to create a cozy style;

Quiet Surroundings – a place to withdraw to: simple products inspired by nature, delicate hues and respect for materials;

Joyfilled Ambience – styling as a form of self-expression: a colorful and joyful trend, with bold combinations, for a refreshingly unexpected style.

Over five days, many exhibitors (in 2018 there were 4,441 of them) and trade visitors (nearly 150,000 from 168 countries last year) will be attracted by ‘The Show’, which will present new ideas and original products, prestigious award ceremonies, themed exhibitions, promotional initiatives for young designers, exhibition areas dedicated to new talents (Talents), to startups (Next), to the most functional objects and appliances for the kitchen (Solutions).
