In New York the 2019 Edition of WantedDesign

WantedDesign comes back in 2019 with two events: WantedDesign Manhattan, in the historic headquarters of the Terminal Stores, and WantedDesign Brooklyn, at Industry City

Among the special events of this year’s edition there is the celebration of 35th anniversary of the Campana Brothers’ design studio. On this occasion WantedDesign and Central Saint Martins – University of the Arts London started a collaboration with Humberto Campana as guest of honour to design objects in an open factory, especially for the IC Design Festival by WantedDesign.

The main theme of the ninth edition of WantedDesign is sustainability, in continuity with last year’s theme. Design can play an important role in creating a more sustainable life, where consumption is more reasonable and less superfluous.

Therefore, design people are invited to reflect on these crucial issues and WantedDesign offers a rich program of exhibitions, seminars, workshops where it will be possible to share and exchange experiences that can improve our life.

Among the special events at Industry City is IC Locals: Timber!, a collective celebration of wood, with visits to carpentry workshops, ateliers of designers and artists who work with wood as a raw and a living material. Curated by Hannah Martin, the collective exhibition includes Lindsey Adelman, ATH Studios / Andrew Hunt, BELLBOY, Chen Chen & Kai Williams, Alan Dorsey, Egg Collective, Sebastian Errazuriz, Flavor Paper, David Gaynor Design, Ishka Designs, Jason Miller, Juniper, Billy Ray Morgan, Cambium Studio, Matthias Pliessnig, Stephen Talasnik.
