The next edition will be full of novelties, starting with the products and projects on show. In fact, an area entirely dedicated to innovative products resulting from design processes that have had unprecedented outcomes called La Stanza delle Idee (The Room of Ideas) has been created. Here innovative start-ups, selected for the most interesting proposals in terms of functionality, technologies, sustainability, will find visibility. The objective of the Stanza delle Idee is to provide retailers, operators, professionals and visitors with a range of products characterized by original solutions and ideas.

The products on display have been selected on the basis of three criteria: product or service efficiency; effectiveness of performance, in the case of products, or usability, in the case of services; and innovation in the way they are used. Projects and products that meet these criteria are marked with a distinctive plaque.

The Illy coffee machine designed by Luca Trazzi is inspired by 1960s Italian industrial design. The new ECO mode, with fast-heating technology, significantly reduces energy consumption by eliminating the waiting time between brews. Every single material used has been chosen to ensure extended durability of the machine. The paper used for packaging is totally recycled and every other packaging element is designed with the environment in mind. Both brewing systems are environmentally sustainable. The machine works with both E.S.E. pods, which are compostable, and ground coffee.
