Thai design at the Salone del Mobile 2023

HOST&HOME promotes Thai design at the Salone del Mobile 2023 with an exhibition curated by internationally renowned Italian designer Matteo Ragni

The HOST&HOME project was established in 2015 by the Thai Ministry of Commerce in collaboration with the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP). This initiative was created to promote Thai design and support local entrepreneurs working in the hospitality sector in Italy and Europe.

Ms. Anongnart Mahasawat, Director of Thai Trade Center Milan, said: “The project was created to get us into the Italian and European hospitality sector and to try to improve Thai products’ market entry by bringing a team of Italian product development to give advice and recommend Thai companies in each company and bring the prototype products from the project participants to exhibit at Salone del Mobile.”

“It was a pleasure for us to be able to dialogue with 12 Thai manufacturing companies, which are so distant from us from a geographical and cultural point of view, and yet so closely akin to the principles of honest design and respect for one’s roots,” said Matteo Ragni. “Despite their peculiar uniqueness, all of these companies combine craftsmanship with modern production processes to dialogue with an increasingly attentive and demanding global market.”
