Cosentino presents Let’s Design-Pietra Kode Edition

Cosentino Group announces the second edition of Let’s Design, the contest inviting designers and architects from around the world to design with Dekton Pietra Kode slabs

Cosentino has launched the second edition of Let’s Design, the contest aimed at interior designers and architects from around the world, which this year invites them to design with Dekton Pietra Kode ultra-compact slabs. The new collection, designed by Daniel Germani, includes three kinds of surfaces inspired by Vicenza stone, Travertine and Ceppo di Grè.

Dekton Pietra Kode slabs are composed of a sophisticated blend of glass, porcelain materials and quartz. They have high mechanical resistance to chemicals, ultraviolet rays and extreme temperatures. They are also water-repellent and easy to maintain. This new surface is therefore suitable for many indoor and outdoor applications.

Let’s Design Contest

Cosentino’s contest, now in its second year, invites designers from around the world to submit a project in of the following categories: Contract (office, retail and culture), Ho.Re.Ca (hotels, restaurants and bars), Yachting (motor and sailing yachts) and Wellness (B2B and B2C Spas and Fitness).

Antonio Citterio, architect and president of architecture and interior design practice ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, will be this edition’s impartial judge. Citterio will choose which projects will be admitted to the competition and judge the 12 finalist projects, 3 in each category, thus contributing to determining the 4 winners.

On the other hand, as the President of the Jury, Daniel Germani, designer of the Pietra Kode collection, will evaluate the technical feasibility of the submitted projects.

The vote of the jurors will be joined by that of Antonio Citterio and the popular jury, composed of visitors, showroom customers and people following the brand on social media.

Timeline and phases of the contest

Those interested should register for the competition no later than April 16, 2023. Participants should fill out the application form available here by selecting the category for their project. Applicants should, in addition, submit a portfolio attesting to their professional expertise and their project by June 12. The jury will announce three finalists in each category by July 20, 2023. The 12 finalist projects will come to life in augmented reality to enable the final round of voting. Lastly, at Milan Design Week 2024, Cosentino will showcase the prototypes of the four winning projects. The exhibition will be held at the company’s showroom, Piazza Fontana 6, Milan.
