Milano Design City 2020

Focus on Mena

Focus on MENA – History, culture, tradition and modernity: these are the four elements characterizing every design project conceived and carried out in the Middle East by local and international architects, who support and interpret the local style. There are several examples of interior and outdoor design projects that result in sophisticated environments, hotels, restaurants, shops and homes throughout the Middle East area. As well as entire urban developments that redesign desert landscapes, transforming them into a vibrant oasis of well-being. In this issue IFI, International Federation of Interior Architects, partner of our publishing house, takes part to the report about the design projects carried out by architects working in the Middle East. To complete the report arrive the voices, drawings and stories of young designers, who from Tel Aviv to Dubai tell and show their ideal and real products. Many pages have been dedicated to Milano Design City 2020, which show and analyze the latest production through a showcase of products, events, debates. Among these, an entire overview on DDN HUB, which, in the evocative location of Piazza Castello, held the attention on the design world, hospitality, craftsmanship, technologies through ad-hoc workshops, conferences and events. You will see here the speakers’ concept and contents, as well as the images of the events. A special space was of course dedicated to Enzo Mari, narrated through the words of his pupil Paolo Ullian, who explains in Carte Blanche the pure thought of the great Master who recently passed away. The issue is closed by Italian Living, as always an exemplary collection of small and larger Italian interior design projects.
